Milan, 29 Mar (LaPresse) – The main airport in Myanmar's capital, Naypyidaw, has been closed after yesterday's strong earthquake caused the control tower to collapse. Sources told Myanmar Now newspaper. An air traffic controller, three attendants, the two-year-old son of one of the attendants and a military intelligence officer died in the collapse. The local airport in Mandalay was also closed following reports of extensive damage to aircraft equipment. The radar systems of both airports are no longer operational.
