Rome, 31 March (LaPresse) – Marine Le Pen, leader of the Rassemblement National, has arrived at the court in Paris where the verdict in the trial involving her is expected. Le Pen and 24 other party officials are accused of having used money intended for European Union parliamentary assistants to pay party staff instead. Le Pen and her co-defendants have denied all charges. Le Pen faces, among other things, a five-year sentence of ineligibility that would bar her from running in the next presidential election. The reading of the sentence is expected to last at least two hours.
