Milan, April 2 (LaPresse) – Hungary has decided to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC). This is reported by Radio Free Europe, citing diplomatic sources within Hungary. The news comes as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected in Budapest today, with an arrest warrant from the ICC hanging over him in relation to the Gaza war. According to the broadcaster, Justice Minister Bence Tuzson discussed the departure from the ICC with diplomats invited to an ambassadors' meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade last week. The meeting, according to several sources quoted by Radio Free Europe, took place under special circumstances, with the room monitored by cameras equipped with facial recognition software to ensure only invited guests were present. According to the broadcaster's information, the government will present a resolution proposal to Parliament on withdrawing from the ICC, and if the majority accepts it, the official withdrawal process will begin. According to one of the sources, the entire process could take up to a year.
