Rome, 6 Apr. (LaPresse/AP) – The man who barricaded himself inside the east block of the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa was arrested on Saturday evening. Police had evacuated the building and closed a significant stretch of Wellington Street in front of Parliament Hill, blocking traffic and pedestrians. More than three hours after the blockade began, the police extended the exclusion zone from Wellington Street one block to Sparks Street. A few hours later, the police announced on social media that the man had been taken into custody without incident.
