Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), April 9 (LaPresse/AP) – The death toll in Santo Domingo has risen following the collapse of a nightclub roof: at least 60 people are dead and over 160 injured.
Rescue teams were searching for potential survivors under the rubble of the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo, said Juan Manuel Méndez, director of the Center of Emergency Operations.
"We believe that many of them are still alive, and that’s why the authorities here will not give up until there is not a single person left under that rubble," he stated.
