Milan, 16 Apr (LaPresse) – ‘China strongly opposes US tariff barriers and trade intimidation, which are harmful practices that do no one any good. This was stated by Sheng Laiyun, deputy head of China's National Bureau of Statistics, as reported by Global Times. ‘In the short term, the high tariffs imposed by the US will put pressure on trade and the economy,’ he added, ’however, they cannot change the long-term positive trend of the Chinese economy. The Chinese economy has a stable foundation and strong resilience. We have the capacity and confidence to face external challenges and achieve our economic development goals'.
