Rome, April 20 (LaPresse) – The IDF has dismissed the deputy commander of the Golani Brigade reconnaissance unit for his responsibility in the events of March 23, when his forces opened fire on a convoy of ambulances and emergency vehicles in Rafah, in southern Gaza, killing 15 rescue workers. The commander was also removed from his post for his ‘biased and inaccurate’ report on the incident during the initial investigation, the army says. The investigation reportedly found that there were no violations of the IDF's code of ethics, but that there were several ‘professional errors’ and actions by troops that violated military protocol, in addition to the failure to fully report the incident.
