Milan, 21 April (LaPresse) – US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth has harshly criticised the media following reports that he used a second Signal group chat to discuss classified military plans, which also included his wife and brother. ‘Time and time again, as they continue to spread these lies, no one ever calls them out. This is what the media does: they take anonymous sources, disgruntled former employees, and try to slaughter and burn people, ruining their reputations,’ Hegseth said at the White House Easter Egg Roll, which was also attended by his children and wife, who was present in one of the Signal chats. CNN reported this. ‘They don't want to work with me because we are changing the Department of Defence, putting the Pentagon back in the hands of combatants. And anonymous smears from disgruntled former employees are old news, it doesn't matter,’ he added.
