Rome, April 26 (LaPresse/AP) – Virginia Giuffre, who had accused British Prince Andrew and American businessman Jeffrey Epstein of sexual abuse, took her own life yesterday at her farm in Western Australia. Her family made the announcement in a statement, calling her "a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and human trafficking. She was the light that illuminated so many victims. Despite all the adversity she faced in her life, she shone brightly. We will miss her terribly." Her press officer, Dini von Mueffling, described Giuffre as "deeply loving, wise, and funny. She adored her children and her many animals. She was always more concerned about me than about herself. I will miss her beyond words. It was the privilege of a lifetime to represent her." Her agent had revealed last month that she had been hospitalized after a serious accident. Giuffre became an activist for victims of sex trafficking after emerging as a central figure in the Epstein case, who died in jail in 2019 while awaiting trial in the United States.
