Rome, 30 Apr (LaPresse) – The commander of the Jerusalem district of the fire brigade says that today's fires could be the largest in Israel's history and that firefighters still have a long way to go before the flames are put out. The Times of Israel reports. ‘We are in the midst of a large fire, perhaps the largest ever in this country,’ said Shmulik Friedman during a press conference held this evening in Eshtaol. ‘As far as our business is concerned, it will continue for a long time. We are far from being in control,’ he added.
