Milan, 30 April (LaPresse) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that some French citizens are fighting alongside Russia in Ukraine. This was reported by the Russian news agency Ria Novosti. ‘Today some citizens of the French Republic, together with our fighters in the area of the special military operation, are fighting side by side. And they have named their unit, after their grandfathers and great-grandfathers, ‘Normandy-Niemen’,’ Putin said. Special military operation is the term by which Moscow refers to the war in Ukraine.
