Frankfurt (Germany), 2 May (LaPresse) – The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), Germany's domestic intelligence service, has classified Alternative fuer Deutschland (AfD) as a proven right-wing extremist organisation. The internal intelligence service reported that the suspicion that the party was pursuing actions directed against the democratic and free fundamental order was confirmed and, in essential parts, became certain. Until now, the AfD was classified at federal level as a ‘suspect case’ of right-wing extremism: now the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution is taking this a step further. Due to the ‘extremist character of the entire party, which ignores human dignity’, the Bfv classifies Alice Weidel's party as indisputably right-wing extremist.
