Rome, May 3 (LaPresse) – Israel is expected to call up thousands of reservists as it prepares for a major expansion of its ongoing military operation in Gaza, amid the failure to reach a new ceasefire agreement with Hamas. This was reported by the Times of Israel, citing multiple media sources.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security consultation during which he reviewed the planned offensive, which will require substantial mobilization.
At the same time, the Israel Defense Forces are preparing to resume aid distribution in the Strip under tighter supervision.
As the aid blockade has lasted more than two months, international organizations are sounding the alarm over the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza.
