Rome, 14 May (LaPresse) – Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani is holding a meeting with senior officials at the Farnesina on the crisis in Tripoli. The Italian Embassy in Tripoli is in contact with all Italian nationals currently in the Libyan capital. For the time being, everyone has been advised not to leave their homes or hotels. A ceasefire is reportedly in force between the military groups that clashed during the night. Neither the Italian embassy nor the hotels have been involved in the clashes, which appear to have been aimed solely at the various armed groups. According to reports, evacuation options are being considered, and Tripoli airport is currently closed. The Italian government's priority at this time, it is explained, is the safety of Italians in Libya.
