Turin, 19 May (LaPresse) – The European leaders of Great Britain, Italy, Germany and France yesterday had a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump to discuss the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by a Downing Street spokesperson. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, together with Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, ahead of today's planned talks between Trump and Vladimir Putin, ‘discussed the need for an unconditional ceasefire’. In addition, European leaders said they were ready to impose new sanctions on Russia if it failed to “commit seriously to a ceasefire and peace talks”.
