Milan, May 30 (LaPresse) – Ukraine is interested in continuing negotiations with Russia in Istanbul, but Moscow must submit its "memorandum" on the ceasefire in advance, in accordance with previous agreements.
“We are interested in continuing these meetings because we want to end the war this year, and we are open to establishing a ceasefire — whether for 30, 50, or 100 days. Ukraine is ready to discuss this directly with Russia,” said Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga during a joint press conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Kyiv, according to Ukrinform.
“We are also waiting for a memorandum from the Russian side, as announced. We expect it in advance. This was also promised to the American side,” Sybiga added. “Therefore, in order for the next scheduled meeting to be meaningful and constructive, it is important to receive the document ahead of time so that the delegation traveling to the talks has the authority to discuss the relevant positions.”
