Brussels, June 5 (LaPresse) – After intense discussions, the EU Transport Council has reached a political agreement on the general approach to revising the regulation on air passenger rights. The announcement was made by the Polish presidency of the EU Council.
“This is a great success and represents a step forward toward a much-needed legislative update. It means more rights for passengers. Perhaps not everyone is fully satisfied with the text, but I believe that actually means we have reached a good compromise. This political agreement will allow us to begin negotiations with the European Parliament, and I hope the Danish presidency will be very successful,” said Polish Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak, speaking on behalf of the current EU Council presidency.
