Brussels, June 5 (LaPresse) – After weeks of escalating threats and protests received via email, letters, and social media posts, the Italian Interior Ministry has assigned a security detail to the Vice President of the European Parliament, Pina Picierno. This information comes from sources close to Picierno herself. What concerned the Interior Ministry officials were the messages and intimidations from pro-Putin groups and the most extreme factions of pro-Palestinian groups. Last March, Picierno was attacked by Solovyev, a journalist friendly to Putin, who said "her mouth reeks of tyranny."
