Jerusalem, June 5 (LaPresse) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israel has "activated" some local Palestinian clans in Gaza to fight against Hamas. In a video posted on his X account, Netanyahu said the government made this decision based on advice from “security officials” to save the lives of Israeli soldiers. An Israeli official reported that one of the groups Netanyahu referred to is the so-called Abu Shabab group. In recent weeks, the group has announced online that its fighters have been helping to protect aid shipments to the new distribution mechanism supported by Israel in southern Gaza.
