Vatican City, June 6 (LaPresse) – “This morning, His Holiness Pope Leo XIV received the President of the Italian Republic, H.E. Mr. Sergio Mattarella, in audience at the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican. President Mattarella subsequently met with H.E. Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of His Holiness, accompanied by Monsignor Miroslaw Wachowski, Under-Secretary for Relations with States.
During the cordial talks held in the Secretariat of State, satisfaction was expressed regarding the good existing bilateral relations. The discussions also focused on international issues, with particular attention to the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East,” reads a statement released by the Holy See Press Office.
