Milan, 11 June (LaPresse) – Greta Thunberg has arrived in Sweden following her expulsion from Israel. The Swedish climate activist landed at Stockholm's Arlanda airport on Tuesday evening after a stopover at Paris airport, according to local media reports. Thunberg, 22, an icon of the global environmental protest movement, was travelling with 11 other activists aboard the Freedom Flotilla Coalition's boat Madleen, which was bound for Gaza with humanitarian aid and was blocked and seized by Israel on Monday. The activists were detained by Israel and, after the boat was taken to the Israeli port of Ashdod, they were taken to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv for repatriation, but not all of them agreed. Upon arrival in Sweden, Thunberg was greeted by friends. She then told the media that what she and the other 11 had suffered was “technically” 'kidnapping'. “They tried to make me sign a 100-year entry ban, but I didn't do it,” she added, according to Expressen.
