Milan, June 11 (LaPresse) – Two Italians are on the U.S. list of foreigners illegally residing in the United States, with the Trump administration reportedly considering transferring such individuals to Guantanamo. Of the two, one has already been deported and the other is in the process of being expelled to Italy, according to sources from the Italian Foreign Ministry. Earlier this morning, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani explained that, according to “preliminary information coming from the Department of Homeland Security,” “Guantanamo would be used for undocumented individuals from countries that do not accept repatriation. However, Italy had already informed the American administration some time ago of its willingness to take back its citizens,” so “there should be no possibility of Italians being sent to Guantanamo.”
