Las Vegas (Nevada, USA), June 11 (LaPresse/AP) – Popular TikToker Khaby Lame has left the United States after being detained by immigration officers in Las Vegas. The Senegalese-Italian influencer, whose full name is Seringe Khabane Lame, was arrested Friday at Harry Reid International Airport but was allowed to leave the country without a deportation order, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Lame had entered the United States on April 30 and “overstayed his visa,” the ICE spokesperson stated. His detention and voluntary departure come amid a growing crackdown on immigration by President Donald Trump, including raids in Los Angeles that have sparked days of protests. The voluntary departure granted to the TikToker allows individuals facing deportation to avoid a removal order on their immigration record, which could otherwise bar them from reentering the U.S. for up to ten years.
