Rome, 14 June (LaPresse) – At least 23 Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded in the early hours of today as Israeli forces intensified their bombardment of several areas of the Gaza Strip, with the heaviest bombing reported in the central region. This was reported by the Palestinian news agency Wafa. Local sources reported that Israeli troops opened fire directly on civilians gathered near aid distribution points in central Gaza, killing 15 people and wounding many others. Medical officials confirmed that five more bodies arrived at al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City, including two people who died from injuries sustained during an air strike on a tent near al-Khaldi mosque, while artillery shelling simultaneously hit the eastern neighbourhood of al-Tuffah. In Khan Younis, three Palestinians were killed in a drone strike on a group of civilians near the Islamic University, Wafa reported.
