According to an Israeli official speaking to CNN, the Trump administration in private discussions has not criticized the weeks-long duration. A White House official also stated that the administration is aware of Israel’s plans and implicitly supports them. When asked how long the conflict might last, the official replied that it depends on Iran’s response.
