Milan, June 22 (LaPresse) – Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Saeed Irvani, accused Israel and the United States of a "serious violation of international law and endangering regional security" during the emergency meeting of the Security Council convened by Iran.
He stated: "Today, another stain has been written in the political history of the United States, a war-thirsty country. Iran has the legitimate right, according to international law, to defend itself."
According to Ynet, he added, "The scope and nature of the response will be determined by the Iranian armed forces. History will not forget these tragic days. It is heartbreaking that a peace-loving country, a founding member of the United Nations, has been bombed and attacked with the support of the United States."
