Washington, June 25 (LaPresse) – The Trump administration has authorized the provision of 30 million dollars to a group supported by the United States and Israel that distributes food in Gaza. A U.S. official stated this on Tuesday. The request marks the first known funding from the U.S. government for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’s aid distribution operation amid the war between Israel and Hamas. The announcement comes as violence and chaos affect the new food distribution sites since their opening last month. The GHF claims that no one has been killed at the distribution sites and that it has delivered 44 million meals to Palestinians in need. The United Nations and humanitarian organizations accuse the foundation of cooperating with Israel’s objectives in the 21-month-long war against Hamas in ways that violate humanitarian principles.
