Rome, June 29 (LaPresse) – "Tonight we witnessed a great victory in the Senate with the 'GREAT, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL,' but it would never have happened without the fantastic work of Senators Rick Scott, Mike Lee, Ron Johnson, and Cynthia Lummis. They, along with all the other Republican patriots who voted for the bill, are people who truly love our country! As President of the United States, I am proud of all of them and look forward to working with them to grow our economy, reduce waste, protect our borders, fight for our military/veterans, ensure our Medicaid system helps those who truly need it, protect our Second Amendment, and much more. God bless America and make it great again!"
This is what U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on Truth following the formal opening of the spending bill debate. The green light came with a narrow vote (51 to 49), with two Republicans voting against: Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky.
Trump then attacked the two 'dissidents' again via social media. "Many people have come forward to run in the primaries against 'Senator Thom' Tillis. I will meet them in the coming weeks, looking for someone who can worthily represent the great people of North Carolina and, very importantly, the United States of America. Thank you for your attention!" the tycoon’s message read.
