Berlin (Germany), 30 June (LaPresse) – According to information from Bz and Bild, a fire broke out at a construction site in a skyscraper on the corner of Kurfürstenstrasse and Urania, in the Mitte district in central Berlin. Videos and photos are available online showing a large cloud of smoke caused by the fire, visible from large areas of the city. The fire apparently broke out on the roof of the building. The cause is currently unknown, as is the possible presence of injuries. Firefighters are on duty and are extinguishing the flames. A fire brigade spokesperson told the Tagesspiegel that 90 emergency personnel were at the scene. ‘There were three violent explosions with huge pressure waves that were also felt in nearby houses. The explosions occurred one or two minutes apart,’ said a Bild journalist who was in the vicinity.
