Rome, July 4 (LaPresse) – The United States has threatened to impose 17% tariffs on EU agricultural exports in what would mark a hardening of Washington’s position in ongoing talks with Brussels. The Financial Times, citing three people familiar with the discussions, reported this. According to reports, US President Donald Trump wants Brussels to grant US companies broad exemptions from regulations and reduce the trade surplus with the United States. The warning was reportedly delivered to the European Commissioner for Trade, Maros Sefcovic, during meetings in Washington.
