Milan, July 4 (LaPresse) – “After last night’s massive Russian air strike on Ukraine, we discovered in Kyiv a component of a Russian-Iranian combat drone, ‘Shahed-136’/‘Geran-2’, that was made in China and only recently supplied,” said Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha in a post on X.
“What irony,” wrote Sybiha, pointing out that “just the night before, the building of the Chinese consulate general in Odesa sustained minor damage from Russian attacks on the city.”
“There is no better metaphor to explain how Putin continues to escalate his war and terror by involving others – including North Korean troops, Iranian weapons, and some Chinese manufacturers,” continued the Kyiv diplomat.
“Security in Europe, the Middle East, and the Indo-Pacific is inextricably linked. This is not a competition for attention. Countering Russian aggression and terror in Europe directly contributes to strengthening security in the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific,” Sybiha added.
“We urge the United States and the international community to increase pressure on both the Moscow regime and its war budget, as well as on all those around the world who support Russia’s war effort and allow Putin to keep killing in Ukraine. There is no more time to wait,” he concluded.
