Seoul (South Korea), 10 July (LaPresse/AP) – A South Korean court has approved the re-arrest of former president Yoon Suk Yeol, accused of imposing martial law in December, accepting the claim of a special prosecutor that there is a risk of evidence being destroyed. Yoon was formally removed from office in April after the Constitutional Court upheld his impeachment for briefly imposing martial law. After four months, he will return to a detention centre near Seoul. He was released from the facility in March after the Seoul Central District Court overturned his January arrest. This allowed the former South Korean president, accused of abuse of power, insurrection and high treason, to face trial without being held in custody.
