Milan, July 11 (LaPresse) – Preliminary findings from the investigation into the Air India flight that crashed shortly after takeoff on June 11 from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad indicate that the switches controlling fuel flow to the aircraft’s two engines had been turned off, causing an apparent loss of thrust shortly after departure. Sources revealed this to the Wall Street Journal. These switches are used by pilots to start, shut down, or reset the aircraft’s engines in certain emergencies. The investigation is focusing on the pilots’ actions and has so far found no mechanical issues with the aircraft, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
