Rome, 11 July (LaPresse) – The European Union and Canada will receive letters informing them of new tariffs ‘today or tomorrow’. This was announced by US President Donald Trump in an interview with NBC News. ‘I would like to do it today,’ Trump said, adding: ‘I'm talking about the European Union, which, as you know, includes many countries, and Canada. We will publish them in the next two hours.’ The tycoon said he intends to impose generalised tariffs of 15% or 20% on most trading partners from 1 August. As for Canada, he announced tariffs of 35%, also starting on 1 August.
