Milan, 11 July (LaPresse) – The meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Malaysia ‘was positive, pragmatic and constructive’. This was stated by the Beijing Foreign Ministry, adding that the two agreed to strengthen communication and dialogue through diplomatic channels and at various levels and in various sectors, fully leveraging the role of foreign ministries in promoting bilateral relations, managing differences and identifying areas for expanding cooperation. This was reported by the Global Times. Wang, according to the ministry, expressed the hope that the United States would adopt an objective, rational and pragmatic approach towards China, define its policy towards China with the aim of peaceful coexistence and mutually beneficial cooperation, and engage with China on the basis of equality, mutual respect and reciprocity to jointly explore an appropriate path for China-US interaction in the new era.
