Brussels, 13 July (LaPresse) – "The United States has sent us a letter with measures that will come into force unless a negotiated solution is found. We will therefore also extend the suspension of our countermeasures until the beginning of August and, at the same time, continue to prepare further countermeasures so that we are fully prepared.‘ This was stated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at a press conference with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Brussels. ’The second and third elements are always very important in this. The second element is the diversification of our trade relations. So, this important and significant political agreement on a free trade agreement with Indonesia is a huge milestone today and shows that we are looking for new markets, an open market, and the third element of our path is to work on the single market itself, deepening the single market, because that is our safe harbour," she emphasised.
