Syria, Druze leader denies ceasefire agreement

Damascus (Syria), July 16 (LaPresse) – A prominent Druze leader, Sheikh Hikmat Al-Hijri, has denied the new ceasefire agreement that was made by other Druze officials. The agreement was announced by sources from the Syrian government to the Syrian news agency Sana and by another Druze leader in a video message. It is still unclear whether the agreement will be respected. The previous ceasefire announced yesterday quickly failed.
