Turin, 18 July (LaPresse) – "A decision by the European Union for which we have all worked together. We have succeeded in strengthening the 18th package of sanctions against Russia for this war, and today the package has been approved. I thank everyone who contributed to this result.‘ This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on X. ’I would particularly like to express my appreciation to the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and to each of the leaders of the EU Member States for the unity they have shown and the principled position they have taken," he explained. ‘I also thank the President of the European Council, António Costa. And I thank Denmark for the very decisive start to its presidency of the EU Council. This decision is crucial and timely, especially now, in response to Russia's intensified brutality in its attacks on our cities and villages.’
