Tokyo (Japan), 20 July (LaPresse/AP) – Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba is determined to remain in office to tackle the country's economic and security challenges, despite the ruling coalition risking losing its majority in today's upper house elections. ‘It is a difficult situation. I accept it with humility and sincerity,’ Ishiba said in an interview with NHK, stating that the poor performance was due to the fact that his government's measures to combat rising prices had not yet reached many people, ‘I will fulfil my responsibilities as leader of the number one party and work for the country.’
