Milan, 22 July (LaPresse) – As part of the Epstein case, the US Department of Justice will meet with Ghislane Maxwell in the coming days. This was announced by US Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in a statement published on X by Attorney General Pam Bondi. "President Trump has asked us to make all credible evidence public. If Ghislane Maxwell has information about anyone, the Justice Department will listen to what she has to say. Therefore, at the direction of Attorney General Bondi, I have contacted Ms. Maxwell's counsel to determine if she is willing to speak with prosecutors from the department. I anticipate meeting with Ms. Maxwell in the coming days. Until now, no administration on behalf of the department had asked if she was willing to meet with the government. That has now changed," Blanche said. Maxwell, Epstein's former girlfriend, was convicted in 2021 by a jury for helping the financier sexually abuse underage girls and is serving a 20-year prison sentence. The request to question her is a further effort by the Justice Department to address negative reactions from part of Trump's base to the previous decision not to release additional documents related to the Epstein investigation.
