Milan, 22 July (LaPresse) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres told the Security Council that Gaza is a ‘horror show with a level of death and destruction unprecedented in recent times.’ ‘Malnutrition is rising sharply. Hunger is knocking on every door. And now we are witnessing the last gasp of a humanitarian system founded on humanitarian principles,’ Guterres said. "That system is being denied the conditions to function. It is being denied the space to provide assistance. It is being denied the security necessary to save lives.‘ Guterres added that between the latest Israeli army operation in Deir al-Balah and the forced displacement orders issued, the devastation is ’being added to the previous one."
