Turin, July 24 (LaPresse/AP) – An official familiar with the ceasefire talks in Gaza stated that Hamas has submitted a "positive response" through Qatari mediators. "Hamas' response has now been passed on to the Israeli side, and there is growing optimism that the differences are narrowing and that an agreement can be reached," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. He also reported that senior officials from the United States and Qatar are meeting in Italy today to discuss progress. No further details were provided.
