Milan, 27 July (LaPresse/AP) – The possibility of reaching an agreement on tariffs with the EU is ‘50-50’. This was stated by US President Donald Trump in response to a question shouted from a distance by Connor Gillies, Sky News' correspondent for Scotland, while the tycoon was playing golf at his resort in Turnberry, where a meeting with EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is scheduled for 5.30 p.m. ‘Can you get a deal with the EU today?’ asked the journalist. ‘Fifty-fifty,’ Trump replied from a distance. On Friday, speaking to reporters at the White House before leaving for Scotland, the US president had already mentioned a 50-50 chance. ‘We have a 50-50 chance, maybe less, but a 50-50 chance of reaching an agreement with the EU,’ he said.
