Brussels, 27 July (LaPresse) – ‘If we succeed, I think it will be the biggest deal any of us has ever made.’ This was stated by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at a press conference with US President Donald Trump before their meeting to discuss trade relations in Turnberry, Scotland. ‘I look forward to starting the discussions. Our staff has done some of the most challenging work, but now it's up to us,’ added von der Leyen, who, addressing Trump, emphasised that he is ‘known to be a tough negotiator, a fair negotiator and an honest negotiator.’ Trump then agreed that the trade agreement would be the ‘biggest ever concluded.’
