Turin, Aug. 7 (LaPresse) – "The President of the European Commission," Ursula von der Leyen, "was not present on yesterday’s call" between Putin and Trump, but "she was fully briefed. And she remained in contact with European leaders as always. She is in constant communication with them, especially on such an important issue," said European Commission spokesperson Arianna Podestà during the daily press briefing.
"Our position on peace talks is well known. We support a just and lasting peace for Ukraine, and our commitment to that has not changed in any way. As for the possible trilateral peace talks" between Trump, Putin, and Zelensky, "it seems that the timing, format, and logistics are still to be defined. So it really seems premature to say exactly what will happen," she added, "we have to see how the situation evolves," and "obviously, there’s no disappointment over something that hasn’t been requested and hasn’t yet been decided."
