Rome, Aug. 7 (LaPresse) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported having a phone call with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and stressed that Europe “must participate” in the peace process.
“I spoke with Friedrich Merz. Ukraine and Germany share the view that the war must end as soon as possible with a dignified peace, and that the parameters for ending this war will shape the security landscape in Europe for decades to come. The war is happening in Europe, and Ukraine is an integral part of it: we are already in negotiations for EU membership. Therefore, Europe must participate in the relevant processes,” Zelensky wrote on X.
