Milan, 14 Aug. (LaPresse) – British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in their meeting this morning in Downing Street, had a "private breakfast", during which they discussed both yesterday's meetings and the talks expected for tomorrow in Alaska between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. The British government reports this, explaining that Starmer and Zelensky "agreed that" in yesterday's talks "there was a strong sense of unity and a firm determination to achieve a just and lasting peace in Ukraine" and "then looked to the talks tomorrow between President Trump and President Putin in Alaska, which represent a real chance for progress provided Putin acts to show that he is serious about peace'. The two have "agreed to remain in close contact in the coming days," the note concludes.
