Milan, 17 August (LaPresse) – ‘Do I think President Putin wants peace? The answer is no. Do I think President Trump wants peace? Yes.’ This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron, speaking to journalists after the meeting of the so-called coalition of the willing, to which he connected from the fort of Brégançon. Referring to Putin, he added: ‘I think he wants Ukraine to capitulate; that is what he has proposed.’ He continued: ‘Any agreement based on the absence of a Ukrainian army or on the reduction of the Ukrainian army would be an insincere agreement destined not to be respected’ and ‘there is only one state proposing a peace that would be capitulation: Russia.’
