Milan, 18 August (LaPresse) – The Hostage Families Forum states that nearly 500,000 people gathered this evening in the Hostage Square in Tel Aviv and surrounding streets for a massive demonstration demanding the government reach an agreement to free the hostages in Gaza. The Times of Israel reports that there are no official police estimates on the number of participants, but it appears to be one of the largest protests since the start of the war. "Nearly 500,000 people gathered… to make it clear that the entire Israeli public wants the release of all hostages and the end of the war," the forum said in a statement. The forum also estimates that around one million people participated in dozens of protests across the country during the day. "The families of the hostages want to tell the Israeli people: 'Thank you! From here, we will intensify our efforts. Stay with us until the last hostage returns!'" the forum added.
