Milan, 22 August (LaPresse/AP) – Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said in a post on X that the offensive in Gaza will continue until Hamas ‘accepts Israel's conditions for ending the war, first and foremost the release of all hostages and disarmament’. ‘If they do not accept,’ he added, ‘Gaza City, the capital of Hamas, will become Rafah and Beit Hanoun. Exactly as I promised, so it will be.’ Rafah and Beit Hanoun were reduced to rubble in previous offensives by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF).
